Planned as the focal piece of the Coomera Sporting Precinct in the northern Gold Coast, this exceptionally designed stadium will become an integral part of the sporting landscape servicing a wide range of indoor sporting events for the region. The stadium will be the venue for various 2018 Commonwealth Games events including gymnastics and netball.

The landscape design embraces the local context incorporating native plant species through informal composition juxtaposed against the structured requirement of defined pathways, carparks and other necessary external infrastructure. Shade tree planting and layered buffer planting are essential components of the design reducing solar heat sink and softening the large building form once established. Careful coordination and implementation of water sensitive urban design initiatives ensures that stormwater conveyance and treatment is seamlessly integrated and celebrated as a core part of the design outcome.
