Designed by Dame Zaha Hadid, Grace on Coronation is a harmonious blend of incomparable architectural elegance, vibrant urban parklands and heritage conservation adjoining the Brisbane River in Toowong. The design provides 486 apartments in three residential towers, eight villas and landscaped riverfront public parklands. The project also includes the preservation of the heritage-listed Middenbury House, which will form part of the site’s extensive parkland precinct.
The architectural forms have informed the landscape design; clean lines dominate the public plaza and landform. Public space is abundant, creating active connections and opportunities for social interaction, not just for residents but for the enjoyment of the wider community. Landscape as sculpture has been explored through the use of large iconic shade trees to create vistas to the river, sculptural contemporary landforms and interactive and playful installations. Connection to the Brisbane River is embraced through directed views, riverside access, viewing platforms and extensive revegetation.
