Orion Towers superscraper is a new two-tower mixed use development located in Surfers Paradise and is set to become the tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere. The scale of the development has been carefully considered by the architectural team and the ground plane amplifies pedestrian routes, movement and experience. The public domain is the central focus for the ground floor landscape, with articulated, active and dynamic edges adding interest to the space, offering various visual, physical, and lifestyle experiences.
The design unifies architecture and landscape with carefully crafted edges that are practical and sustainable. Lush subtropical planting cascades into the urban canyon over three levels of articulated terraces connecting the tower to the street while providing a strong visual link to the adjoining streetscapes and neighbouring properties.
The upper podium at the base of the towers offers a rich variety of indoor and outdoor recreational opportunities and lifestyle environments bound by an organic common thread of meandering water and elegant swimming pools. Careful consideration has been focused on the combined use and restricted access for the proposed 5-star hotel and the residential components of the project. With an obviously large population proposed for the site the recreational opportunities have been carefully explored providing an exciting experience of spaces for gathering, relaxing, exercising, meeting, and playing.
